Meet The Mascot: Prospector Pete

Born on September 28th, 1949 Prospector Pete was meant to be a strong spirited member of the campus community who has worked to keep the morale and spirit up at all CSULB sports and community events. Wearing the latest "49er" attire of black and gold, it is impossible to miss this mascot where ever he goes.

Beyond that, Pete portrays a strong message of why we all are 49er's at heart. Pete stands for the quest of golden nuggets of knowledge that can be found thoughout the classooms and historic campus. Prospector Pete is more than just a mascot, he is our campus pride and the one always pushing for us to have the best experience possible at "the Beach".

Currently, Prospector Pete has been working hard showing students outside of the campus what being a 49er is all about. Competing at USA nationals in Anaheim, CA Pete took home first place being the competion with his dance skills and winning school spirit.

Make sure to attend any home games and look out our for Pete pumping up the crowds!
